n this interlinear Hebrew word study below, it is demonstrated that mankind is commanded to take a stand to establish "sunrise" as the commencement of the "day." In addition, Yahuwah is calling His faithful to restore all of His units of time. He defines how this is to be accomplished. We are to "number" the Sabbaths, the lunar months and the other fixed feasts according to the elliptical lunar measure. As a "nail in a sure place" the Roman Gregorian calendar with its unbroken-chains-of-weeks that have purportedly cycled without end since creation, are once again exposed as fraudulent fruits of a spurious calendar. As a result, neither Saturday nor Sunday are holy days.

Note to reader:  Sunset heralds the commencement of the night, just as sunrise heralds the commencement of the day.  We also have on good authority from Genesis 1:14-18 that lights beaconed by the visible sun was to measure (rule) the day and the visible moon (half of the month) and stars measure (rule) the night. Commentary:

Parameters of the "Day"

Verse 30 defines the parameters of the "day" according to our heavenly Father, Yahuwah. In profound language we are exhorted to "take a stand" to establish that the commencement of the "day" begins at "sunrise." This we are asked to do while the whole world, in opposition, defends human traditions, beginning their days either at midnight or sunset. We are to acknowledge that we believe and follow this by extending hands in thanksgiving and praise to Yahuwah at "sunrise" and then again secondly, at "sunset," at the close of the day. Night is the interim between two "days," but night is also the second half of a lunar, civil calendar date. Therefore both the "day" and the "civil calendar date," begin at "sunrise" according to Scripture. This is in sharp contrast to the current tradition of both Jews and Saturday Sabbatarians.

In light of Daniel 7:25, many have maintained that the only divinely ordained unit of time that has been compromised by Rome was the "Saturday Sabbath," in A.D. 324. That was the year Constantine allegedly changed the solemnity of the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday on the Julian calendar. This however, is not the truth. Constantine never changed the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday. Prior to the edict that established Sunday as Rome's holy day, the Roman Julian week consisted of eight days, and not seven. Saturday had up until this edict been the first day of their eight-day week that cycled without end. Therefore Saturday had never been a holy appointed Sabbath of either Rome or our Creator, Yahuwah. The change or shift that was masterminded by Constantine was designed to forever "fix" a holy solemnity to Sunday, rather than to the lunar Sabbath of the Bible and the Israelites. The Sabbath of the Israelites had always been determined according to lunisolar time and had NEVER previous to this been associated with Saturday or an unbroken cycling week.

In the mid-1st century B.C. Julius Cæsar invited Sosigenes, an Alexandrian astronomer, to advise him about the reform of the calendar, and Sosigenes decided that the only practical step was to abandon the lunar calendar altogether. Months must be arranged on a seasonal basis, and a tropical (solar) year was used, as in the Egyptian calendar . . . . The Julian Calendar," Encyclopædia Britannica.

Under these two factors, the Julian week began a centuries-long evolutionary process that ended in the week as it is known today. The original seven-day planetary week is the third and final piece of the puzzle proving that Saturday is not the Bible Sabbath, nor Sunday the first day of the Biblical week. This transformation took several hundred years. Franz Cumont, widely considered to be a great authority on Mithraism, links the acceptance of the seven-day week by Europeans to the popularity of Mithraism in pagan Rome:

It is not to be doubted that the diffusion of the Iranian [Persian] mysteries has had a considerable part in the general adoption, by the pagans, of the week with the Sunday as a holy day. The names which we employ, unawares, for the other six days, came into use at the same time that Mithraism won its followers in the provinces in the West, and one is not rash in establishing a relation of coincidence between its triumph and that concomitant phenomenon. Franz Cumont, Textes et Monumnets Figures Relatifs aux Mysteres de Mithra, Vol. I, p. 112, as quoted in ibid, p. 156.

The establishment of a counterfeit calendar is the first step necessary for counterfeit worship, both of which were crafted at the famous Council of Nicaea. Upon this premise "the repulsive and revolting" Biblical lunisolar calendar was replaced with the pagan solar calendar, as a tribute to their gods. The planetary continuous weekly cycle then replaced the Biblical week, which had always been fixed to the count from the New Moon.

This planetary week was paganism's counterfeit of the true, Biblical week instituted by the Creator in the beginning of Earth's history. In the counterfeit week employed in ancient paganism "the venerable day of the Sun" was esteemed by the heathen above the other six days because it was regarded as sacred to the Sun, the chief of the planetary deities . . . Just as the true Sabbath is inseparably linked with the Biblical week, so the false Sabbath of pagan origin needed a weekly cycle. Thus we have found that the planetary week of paganism is Sunday's twin sister, and that the two counterfeit institutions were linked together ... Odom, op. cit., p. 243-244, emphasis supplied.

When the historical and time centric facts of the Julian calendar are comprehended, it becomes apparent that Sunday is not the only spurious worship day established upon paganism. Saturday, dies Saturni, is also a counterfeit and spurious worship day. For the mere fact it is the seventh-day of the modern week, it is in opposition to the true seventh-day Sabbath of the Bible. Both days are fruit of a false, man-made calendar system. Therefore, neither Saturday nor Sunday can be the true Bible Sabbath.

In 321 A.D., Constantine, emperor of Rome . . . by civil enactments made "the venerable day of the Sun," which day was then "notable for its veneration," the weekly rest day of the empire . . . The enforcement of the weekly observance of Sunday gave official recognition to the week of seven days and resulted in the introduction of it into the official civil calendar of Rome. The Romans passed that calendar down to us, and in it we have still the ancient planetary titles of the days of the week. Odom, op. cit., p. 243-244, emphasis supplied.

In one fell swoop, a double deception was masterminded. Constantine crafted not one, but two major deceptions, both the spurious fruit of his instituted artificial calendar. First, he changed the cycling eight-day week to a cycling seven-day week, creating an illusion that this "new week" and its calendar were indeed in harmony with Scripture. Second, he anointed Sunday of this new unbroken-cycling-week, to be "holy." By so doing, he crafted the greatest deception of all. Those Bible students and scholars of later generations to come would discover that the seventh-day was ordained by Yahuwah to be holy and not the first day. By default they and their followers would adhere to "Saturday," as if it were holy, simply because it represented the seventh-day on Rome's calendar. Thus, thinking they are in harmony with Scripture, many would cling to "Saturday," believing it to be the true seventh-day Sabbath of Scripture. All the while, the entire premise that the Roman "week" was in sync with Scripture became the hidden deception. All will be brought to test over this question, as all have the opportunity to know the truth. Each of the Creator's units of time are beaconed by the orchestrated harmony of the sun, moon and stars. In sharp contrast, Rome's week floats through the Creator's month with no connection what ever to the moon.

Has Rome changed any other ordained units of time? Bible scholars will agree that Rome has also altered for her own glory, the year, month and day. Roman time dictates that the "year" commences in winter, the "calends" (Roman months) were crafted according to her arbitrary whim and are not fixed to the moon, and "days" are to commence at midnight. All the while, Scripture testifies from cover to cover that Yahuwah ordained the year to commence in Spring (Exodus 12:1-3), the month is to commence at the New Moon lunar phase (Isaiah 66:23, Ezekiel 46:1), and the "day" was ordained to be twelve hours in length and commence at sunrise.

[Note to the reader- Before you are tempted to dismiss this as error, because you've been taught to believe the "day" commences at sunset, and believe the Sabbath is placed according to Roman cycling weeks, think again. All have been taught wrong, as Scripture defines that "all the world wandered after the beast." The reformation is still marching forward, and will continue until the return of our redeemer, Yahushua. Take this opportunity to challenge your current beliefs, as knowledge is increasing and truths are becoming plain. Let not one doctrinal stone be left unturned in the search for truth (Acts 17:11), as the last conflict will be over time.]


The Ordained Measure for Time

Verse 31 begins with another exhortation, to exalt and restore the timing of Yahuwah's three additional units of time, specifically His Sabbaths, His New Moons and their lunar months, and all His ordained annual holy feast days. But how can this be done? What are the standards that define each? Remarkably, it is a single remedy that restores each of these units of time. This remedy for the lost Sabbaths, New Moons and their lunar months, and annual holy feast days is to be accomplished by "numbering" them according to the "elliptical perpetual measure of the moon." Shocking as this may be, "the week" with its seventh-day Sabbath was ordained at creation to be fixed permanently to the same numbering count as that of the month. As a result, the seventh-day Sabbaths by divine design were eternally fixed to the 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th civil calendar dates, each and every lunar month.

Ever since Constantine legislated in A.D. 324, his new "seven day week" with its continuous-weekly-cycle, and appointed Sunday as the holy day, the whole world has been deceived by His dual craftiness, and led to forget the Creator's true calendation.

Shortly afterward, in A.D. 358, Sanhedrin Patriarch Hillel II, motivated by the onslaught of continued Jewish persecution, determined to provide an authorized mathematically-based calendar for all time to come that would be in harmony with Rome. By so doing, he severed the ties that united the Jews of the Diaspora to their historical Scriptural roots and to the patriarchate. It is recorded that Rome's unbroken-cycle-of-weeks of seven days was adopted at a clandestine and maybe final meeting of the Sanhedrin in A.D. 358, marking the last universal decision made by that body. Thus the Jews swapped the Biblical lunar Sabbaths for the popularized Roman continuous weekly cycle, causing her Sabbaths to no longer be in sync with the New Moons and all other holy appointed feast days.

Sabbath and New Moon (Rosh Hodesh), both periodically recur in the course of the year. The New Moon is still, and the Sabbath originally was, dependent upon the lunar cycle. Universal Jewish Encyclopedia, p. 410.

It was not until the first century of our era, when the planetary week had become an established institution, that the Jewish Sabbath seems always to have corresponded to Saturn's Day [Saturday]. Blindly, all the modern world "has wandered after the beast" by believing either Rome's lie that Sunday is holy or the Jewish lie that Saturday is the Sabbath (Revelation 13:3)

But there is hope, as the light from heaven is brilliantly shining to dispel the darkness of error at such a critical hour. Scripture after scripture, and verse after verse are being revealed and restored from the rubble of being entirely lost in translation. On the wings of two or three witnesses, they testify to the truth, and unravel the lies. It is discovered that Bible scholars for the past 1600 years have all bought into Rome's calculated dual deception, either in part or in whole. Sunday keepers have swallowed it whole, while Saturday keepers have at least required a "thus saith the Lord." For a seventh-day Sabbath. Yet, both fall short and today they are the same distance from the true Biblical Sabbath. Both days are built upon the same false, Roman devised continuous weekly cycle. While Saturday is indeed the seventh-day, it is not the seventh-day Sabbath of the Bible, as ordained by the Creator, and Savior. There is a cross to bear for each soul who chooses to follow the only "way the truth and the life" (John 14:6). It is "the principles that rule in the heavens (Genesis 1:14-18)," born out in the sun, moon and stars, that will place His faithful in sync with all of heaven, the angels and the unfallen worlds beyond.

The Elliptical Perpetual Face That Turns

Each oval "elliptical" loop demonstrates the path of the moon's orbit around the earth, which are approximately 29.5 day lunations or months.

From ancient times it has been observed that the sun and stars are stationary, while the moon orbits the earth in a cyclic manner, as the earth orbits the sun. It is well documented that the earth orbits the sun every 365.25 days, known as a solar year. In comparing the sun, moon and stars, it is the "moon" alone that has an oval, or what is referred astronomically as an "elliptical orbit," as seen from earth. In a regular lunisolar year only twelve complete lunations are counted, falling short of the solar year by 11 days each year. This is because there are in fact 12.368 lunations every solar year of 365.25 days. This is why adherents to lunisolar calendation must add a 30 day month approximately every 2.72 years. This 2.72 year cycle brings lunar phases back to the same time of the year, but because 2.72 is not near an integer it only does so approximately and more similar lunar phases at the same time of year occur after 8, 11 or 19 years. Visible telltale markers that the moon is on an oval or "elliptical" orbit around the earth can be verified by its apogee and perigee." Refer to definitions, "Apogee" and "Perigee."

Each orbit of the sun by the earth can be considered perpetual motion, but this verse specifies the "ordained measure" is to be both "elliptical" in nature and display a "perpetual face that turns." The moon is the only astronomical sphere that qualifies for both defined characteristics, as it has a marked "elliptical orbit," and it alone has the "perpetual face that turns." It has long been a mystery, how and why the moon can make its orbit around the earth, yet always present the same face, as the moon has never exposed its backside. This peculiarity of the moon is evidence of Creation in itself and a powerful witness to divine design.

Scripture defines in Genesis 1:14-18, that all of the Creator's units of time are to be made manifest by the orchestration of the sun, moon and stars. Here in this passage of 1 Chronicles 23:30-32 we discover that we are to number the Sabbaths, the New Moon and it's lunar month days, and the years with their specific appointed holy days, according to the "elliptical," and "perpetual face that turns." Can this be representative of anything other than the moon, since we can clearly rule out the sun, and the stars? This command to number the Sabbaths according to the "elliptical and perpetual face that turns," is another way of commanding that we "fix" the seven days of the week to the numbered days of the month. In addition, the months are also to be numbered or counted for each year according to the number of lunations.

As illustrated in the graphic below, both the earth and the moon orbit the sun in a counter-clockwise direction. Notice the oval or "elliptical" pattern of the moons path around the earth. When the moon is farthest from the sun, as pictured on the left, it is "full." When the moon is closest to the sun it is in its dark "conjunction" lunar phase, this occurs because the sun is shining on the moon's backside as seen from earth. However, the moon is recognized as "new" only when the "first visible crescent" of reflected light is seen "anew" at sunset, on the western horizon following the dark phase. This "first visible crescent" New Moon is the instrument divinely ordained from the beginning to be the Creator's Lunar International Dateline (CLID) marker.


The graphic below specifically defines:
  • Twelve lunar months in this lunisolar year (a thirteenth month occurs approximately every third year).

  • There are 29-30 days in each lunar month.

  • Notice how the counter-clockwise path of the moon commences in the position of New Moon day (1), the day following the closest point to the sun. Then the moon’s path continues to the outer edges of its orbit only to swing in toward the sun again toward the end of its lunation (month). The moon remains in a varied but perpetual state of an ellipse.

  • The seventh-day Sabbath was preordained at creation and “fixed” to the lunar civil calendar dates counting from New Moon day. Fraudulently, mankind has been led to believe that there are only two kinds of days— work days and Sabbath days. Yet, Scripture teaches there are three kinds of days— work days, Sabbath days, and New Moon days. It is the New Moon day that occurs at the commencement of each month that breaks the weekly cycle, refreshing each new month with a cycle of four complete weeks.

Time Belongs to Yahuwah

Verse 31 brings out another important point, of how each unit of time is referred to as Yahuwah's. It is Yahuwah's Sabbaths, Yahuwah's New Moons and corresponding lunar months, and Yahuwah's Feast days. This is a second witness to Exodus 20:10, "the seventh-day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God." Our Creator shared His Sabbath with mankind, that we may be in sync with the worship rhythms of the angels and unfallen worlds as they assemble on His pre-appointed holy days. But in addition to Yahuwah sharing His Sabbaths with mankind, He also imputed to earth His New Moon's, lunar months and holy Feast days.

How can we know for certain? Each day of earth's creation fell upon a work day of Yahuwah. These six work days were sandwiched between two holy days of Yahuwah. These are His holy seventh-day Sabbath, His rest day which correspondingly fell at the end of earth's creation week, and the New Moon day, which occurred in heaven the day prior to the first day of creation. As a result, earth's first week of time was hung from heaven's New Moon time reckoning, and not our own, as the sun, moon and stars were not created, or their time set, until the fourth day. Therefore, while the Sabbath was indeed the seventh-day of the week, the lunisolar calendar date for that first seventh-day Sabbath would have been the 8th of the lunar month, in acknowledgement of Heaven's shared gift of time. Thus earth's first week and month were set according to heaven's clock and heaven's New Moon. This was the missing puzzle piece in the Genesis account, bringing it now into full harmony with the rest of the Hebrew Scriptures.

The calendar illustration below demonstrates what occurred during the creation week. On the New Moon Day (in blue) the Creator could not have been on earth for any reason, as He had to be on His throne receiving worship from all His creation. Each of creation's work days are (in green). The first day of creation of earth would have been the second day of the month for Yahuwah, whose time rhythms He was to share with Adam and Eve of His new creation called earth. The 8th day of the month (in gold) is the seventh-day of the week, an eternal holy seventh-day Sabbath of Yahuwah's, past present and future. Here again He would be on His throne in heaven receiving worship from all His creation, including Adam and Eve.


Could it be any other way? For the Creator is to be worshipped from eternity past to eternity future, by all of His created beings upon these two kinds of days from month to month (Isaiah 66:23). As a result, and by divine design, earth could never have a Creator ordained eight-day week, for the simple fact that the Creator Himself was receiving worship upon the New Moon day from all the angelic hosts of heaven and other heavenly beings, etc. The first day of creation could not have been New Moon day as some believe, for the very reason that Yahuwah rests from work upon all the worship days, as He and His son alone are the subjects of worship (1 Chronicles 23:31). Ezekiel 46:1 verifies this:

Thus says the Lord GOD: "The gateway of the inner court that faces toward the east shall be shut the six working days; but on the Sabbath it shall be opened, and on the day of the New Moon it shall be opened. . . . Likewise the people of the land shall worship at the entrance to this gateway before the LORD on the Sabbaths and the New Moons."
Ezekiel 46:1, 3. NKJV

The very next day following New Moon in heaven, the Creator, Yahuwah, commenced the work of creation for six days. On the seventh-day Sabbath He again ceased His work to receive worship by all of heaven, but now with the addition of those upon earth, namely, Adam and Eve. Lovingly, our divine heavenly Father made provision to include earthlings in with the appointed times for all holy days of heaven. It is mankind that has resisted this great and holy gift of Yahuwah's lunisolar time. As a result of their rebellious hearts they have sought their own time keeping systems and appointed times for worship, that do not honor the Creator and Savior of mankind. Was it not prophesied in both Isaiah14:13-14 and Daniel 7:25 that the powers of earth would change the "times" of the Creator?

Yahuwah, at this pinnacle of time is now requesting that all of His units of time be restored, so that all His faithful everywhere may be in harmony with all of heaven and His worship times.

New Moon Day Preceding Creation

So how could our Creator, Yahuwah receive worship on New Moon Day if earth's moon was not even created until the fourth day? For that matter, it had yet to be set and advanced upon into its proper time-centric phase and position in orchestration with the sun and stars?

The New Moon Day prior to the Creation of earth was not involving earth's moon at all, but the moon connected with heaven. Earth's moon is only a copy to keep us in sync with the unfallen worlds and heaven itself. Our Creator illustrates to earthlings that it was "Heaven's New Moon" and "Heaven's Time" that set earth's clock, so to speak, by not even creating or advancing upon earth's sun, moon, or stars until the fourth day. How else could we be certain that indeed earth's time system was set according to the divine time of heaven? Yahuwah is calling His faithful to look up and return to His time "principles that rule in the heavens." Refer to article, "The Principles that Rule in the Heavens."


Ellen White makes the following statement regarding the eternal throne of Yahuwah, and the relationship of the sun, moon and stars.

With undimmed vision they gaze upon the glory of creation- suns and stars and systems, all in their appointed order circling the throne of Deity. Great Controversy, p. 678.

Post a Watch over this Holy Thing

Verse 32 gives additional careful instructions that identify the magnificent importance the Creator attaches to these time-keeping truths, as beaconed by the moon.
  • Guard and protect this sign-marker.

  • Post a watch at the place of assembly.

  • It is for a token of evidence.

  • Watch over this holy and dedicated thing as a charge and service of the sons of Aaron (wilderness sanctuary).

  • The same charge is given for those who are to minister unto the Sanctuary of Yahuwah (heavenly sanctuary).
It is only things of the greatest value on earth that have ever been guarded by a posted watch. Yet the Creator of time itself has asked that mankind guard and protect His divinely "ordained measure of the moon" as it is the great "sign-marker" in the sky. The idea of posting a watch at the place of assembly, establishes a protocol for all to see and be taught the significance of this measuring tool. It also identifies this method of defining time with the appointed time units themselves, a bond, never to be broken.

It is this "ordained measure" that the Creator exclaims is a token of evidence. But of what is it evidence? It is evidence of Divine Design. It is evidence that the earth was indeed created in six literal days sandwiched between the New Moon day and the seventh-day lunar Sabbath, and not thousands or millions of years. It is evidence that the King of the Universe, by His love, has provided earthlings with an invitation to participate with heaven and all the unfallen worlds in coming to Mt. Zion (Yahuwah's holy Mountain of time) for all holy appointed worship days. It is evidence that upon this same time system, the Son of Yahuwah, met the criteria of the sacrificial lamb and rose to become our Priest unto the forgiveness of sins for the restoration of fallen mankind. It is the evidence that according to this same "ordained measure of time" our Savior will, one day soon, "stand up" and come forth from Heaven's Most Holy Place, to receive His ready and waiting faithful. It is a truth that illustrates by its intrinsic evidence, our blessed hope.

While Aaron and his sons ministered unto the earthly sanctuary during the wilderness wandering and beyond, today Yahuwah is calling His faithful everywhere to follow Him by faith as He ministers in the heavenly Sanctuary. He beckons us to keep His appointed days holy and following the work of His son, Yahushua, as He accomplishes our Salvation, through our confession and His forgiveness. Doing so, can only be accomplished upon the "preordained measure" of the moon, His faithful witness in the sky (Psalms 89:37).

Many claim that it matters not what one believes, if his life is only right. But the life is molded by the faith. If light and truth is within our reach, and we neglect to improve the privilege of hearing and seeing it, we virtually reject it; we will be choosing darkness rather than light. God has given us His Word that we may become acquainted with its teachings and know for ourselves what He requires of us. Gospel Workers, p. 128.1

The Sabbath question is to be the issue in the great final conflict in which all the world will act a part. Men have honored Satan's principles above the principles that rule in the heavens. They have accepted the spurious sabbath, which Satan has exalted as the sign of his authority. But God has set His seal upon His royal requirement. Each sabbath institution bears the name of its author, an ineffaceable mark that shows the authority of each. It is our work to lead the people to understand this. We are to show them that it is of vital consequence whether they bear the mark of God's kingdom or the mark of the kingdom of rebellion, for they acknowledge themselves subjects of the kingdom whose mark they bear. God has called us to uplift the standard of His downtrodden Sabbath. How important, then, that our example in Sabbath keeping should be right. Testimonies, Vol. 6, p. 352.1.

We are to recognize human government as an ordinance of divine appointment, and teach obedience to it as a sacred duty, within its legitimate sphere. But when its claims conflict with the claims of God, we must obey God rather than men. God's word must be recognized as above all human legislation. A "Thus saith the Lord" is not to be set aside for a "Thus saith the church" or a "Thus saith the state." The crown of Christ is to be lifted above the diadems of earthly potentates. God's Amazing Grace, p. 58.

To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them." If the light presented meets this test, we are not to refuse to accept it because it does not agree with our ideas.--Gospel Workers, pp. 300, 301.

If the pillars of our faith will not stand the test of investigation, it is time that we knew it. There must be no spirit of pharisaism cherished among us. When Christ came to His own, His own received Him not; and it is a matter of solemn interest to us that we should not pursue a similar course in refusing light from heaven.

We must study the truth for ourselves. No living man should be relied upon to think for us. No matter who it is, or in what position he may be placed, we are not to look upon any man as a perfect criterion for us. We are to counsel together, and to be subject to one another; but at the same time we are to exercise the ability God has given us to learn what is truth. Each one of us must look to God for divine enlightenment. We must individually develop a character that will stand the test in the day of God. We must not become set in our ideas, and think that no one should interfere with our opinions.--Review and Herald, June 18, 1889.
