The Visible Rays from Sunrise to Sunset

Habitually Define Days

T

his interlinear word study reveals two fundamental realities. First, it is the visible rays of the sun, from sunrise to sunset that, yet again, define the parameters of each natural Biblical day. And second, just as our Creator did not create darkness, neither did He create evil as most modern translations purpose.

Commentary:

Knowledge of the Truth to Increase
Verse 6 opens in the middle of a command of Yahuwah, extending from verse 1. With a "thus saith the Lord," to His anointed He declares, "take heed in order to ascertain knowledge." True knowledge is foundational to all precepts of our Creator and Redeemer. The prophet Daniel in chapter 12, declares that at the end of time

"knowledge shall increase." While there is no doubt that general knowledge has for the last 100 years been increasing exponentially, Scripture primarily speaks of Scriptural matters. So, it cannot be ignored that "truths" as they are in Scripture, long hidden from mans view or understanding, are to be made manifest in a continued revelation of knowledge. No church or man can declare they have all the truth, as truth is a progressive process.

Truths that have been for ages unseen and unheeded, will blaze forth from the illuminated pages of God's holy word. Review and Herald, December 15, 1885.

Much has been lost because our ministers and people have concluded that we have had all the truth essential for us as a people; but such a conclusion is erroneous and in harmony with the deceptions of Satan; for truth will be constantly unfolding. Signs of the Times, May 26, 1890.

We need to gather divine rays of light from Christ. We need to search the Scriptures, and dig deep in the mines of truth; for the precious jewels do not always lie on the surface; we should search for them as for hidden treasure. Signs of the Times, Dec. 8, 1890.

Disobedience has closed the door to a vast amount of knowledge that might have been gained from the Scriptures. Understanding means obedience to God's commandments. The Scriptures are not to be adapted to meet the prejudice and jealousy of men. They can be understood only by those who are humbly seeking for a knowledge of the truth that they may obey it. Christ's Object Lessons, p. 112.

After His resurrection, Christ opened the understanding of His followers, that they might understand the Scriptures. Everything had been transformed by the working of the arts of Satan. Truth was covered up by the rubbish of error, and hidden from finite sight. . . Manuscript Release 16, p. 123.

Since truth was once covered up by the rubbish of error and hidden from finite site, could it happen again?

Christ had many truths to give to His disciples, of which He could not speak, because they did not advance with the light that was flashed upon the Levitical laws and the sacrificial offerings. They did not embrace the light, advance with the light, and follow on to still greater brightness as Providence should lead the way. Manuscript Release 16, p. 123.1.

What application might the Levitical laws with their appointed holy days have for those living at the end of time? Perhaps this is a lesson for those living who long for the second coming. There is still a required daily sacrifice, but now is that of a broken and contrite, confessing heart.

The Day Defined by Scriptural Truth
The particular knowledge to be ascertained in this study is that of when the natural and Biblical "day" begins and ends. It was preordained that the majority of those living on earth would be able to see with there own eyes the habitual rising and setting of the sun. By design they would not need the aide of time-piece instruments crafted by men, such as clocks. Our loving heavenly Father preordained that each individual was to trust His word and their own eyes for time-keeping.

While this is a new idea to many, it is founded upon the rock of truth, as it is based upon the principles that rule in the heavens (Genesis 1:14). This truth stands in marked contrast to the principles of a day set forth by both the Vatican and the modern Jews. The Biblical day is neither 24 hours long, nor does it begin at midnight or sunset.

This visual phenomenon of sunrise and sunset defines one of the Creator's most obvious and beautiful units of time, His "day," as opposed to the darkness of night. Yahuwah, declares knowledge is gained by recognizing the evidence presented by the first rays of light at sunrise to the last rays of sunset. Sunrise and sunset, as opposed to dawn and dusk are definable precise moments when the sun's rays begin to shine as well as cease there shinning. When the sun disappears at sunset, the "day" is official over. In this way the day comes to an end as the its "ray" habitually cease to shine at sunset.

The Sun to Rule by Day and the Stars by Night
Let's not forget that at creation the sun was appointed to "rule by "day," meaning it was to be visible all the while it is "day" (Genesis 1:14). In contrast, the stars were ordained to rule by night. Therefore the visible rays of the sun determine it is day.

When the visible rays of the sun are absent, the stars become visible and light the darkening sky, defining that night has begun. The first star is seen precisely at sunset. This includes the seven planet stars, known as Venus, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. It doesn't appear there is ever a month that one or more of these are not visible during the First Watch or Fourth Watch of the night.

Just as the rays of light, habitually cease at sunset, so to does the "day," itself cease. Whether spring, summer, fall or winter, the "day" is always divided into twelve hours. These hours are shorter in winter and longer in summer, yet there are always twelve.

Jesus answered, "Are there not twelve hours in the day?" John 11:9

The physical principles of light and darkness, i.e. day and night, as defined in the Old Testament, are in the New Testament largely reapplied with metaphoric significance. Light and day become synonymous with sight, truth and righteousness, while darkness and night become synonymous with blindness and error and unrighteousness. Light and day contain pure radiant rays. With dawn or dusk, any portion of darkness mixed with light continues to be darkness. Likewise, any error mixed with truth continues to be error, no matter to what degree.

If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world. But if one walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him." John 11:9-10

This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:5-7 NKJV

The Intrinsic Problem with Dawn and Dusk
Neither the first ambient light of dawn nor the last ambient light of dusk, are visually definable moments, but rather they are gradual transitions, not distinguishable by the human eye. The sun's visible and definable "rays" are absent in both dawn and dusk, inhibiting them from producing a rainbow in nature or the ability to produce a reflected prism onto a wall or paper several feet away. In other words it is impossible to divide the color spectrum of light when there are no "radiant light rays" present. The absence of "radiant light rays" means one thing- the sun is not ruling.

While dusk is the First Watch of the night, dawn is the last or Fourth Watch, also of the night and is not considered morning at all. Another name for this watch is the "Morning Watch." Therefore "dawn" is the last of four parts of the night that is figuratively defined as watching for the morning rays of light. Morning is synonymous with the rays of sunlight first seen at sunrise.

Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming - in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning - lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch! Mark 13:35 NKJV

Creating Darkness and Evil or Dispelling It?
Verse 7 - This verse is divided into two comparable parts. First, there is no other than the magnificent Creator who formed, as a potter each of the luminaries including the sun, moon and stars to cut down and dispel darkness. This word study reveals the KJV rendering of this verse is in error, which states on behalf of Yahuwah, "I form the light and create darkness." Yet, from Genesis 1:2 we find that darkness pre-existed creation along with the earth being without form and void.

The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. Genesis 1:2.

The Creator fashioned the light to dispel darkness. Darkness is simply the absence of light.

Second, a comparison is made that in like manner to the luminaries cutting down and dispelling darkness, the Creator appointed "peace" to cut down and dispel "evil." Here again, this is in stark contrast to the KJV, which declares on behalf of Yahuwah, "I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things." As a result, the KJV is overtly in error as our Creator neither created darkness nor evil. Rather, He has supreme power over both to cut down and dispel them through His light and goodness.

The Evidence
  • Truth is progressive.

  • Truths hidden in the holy Word will be revealed.

  • Ministers lead their people to believe they have all the truth.

  • Why would they search for truth as for buried treasure if they believe they have all truth.

  • Truth can only be understood by those who humbly seek a knowledge of it that they may obey it.

  • A “day” commences at sunrise when the visible rays can be seen and terminates at sunset when they habitually cease.

  • Every person can trust the word and his own eyes for when the day begins and ends.

  • The Biblical day is based upon the principles that rule in the heavens.

  • The Biblical day is neither 24 hours long, nor does it begin in the night.

  • At dawn and dusk no visible sun rays can be seen.

  • The stars begin their shining at the moment of dusk and end at the moment of sunrise, thus defining the boundaries of the night and not the day.

  • Dusk is the First Watch of the night and Dawn is the Fourth Watch of the Night.

  • Rainbows never occur during dawn or dusk.

  • The sun is to rule by day and the stars by night. Genesis 1:16

  • Day is to be reckoned by “hours.” John 11:9-10

  • Night is to be consistently reckoned by the four Night Watches. Mark 13:35

  • Metaphorically, light and day are synonymous with sight, truth and righteousness.

  • Metaphorically, darkness and night, or any mixture of it becomes synonymous with blindness, error and unrighteousness.

  • The sun, moon and stars were created to dispel darkness.

  • Darkness was not a created thing, as it was preexisting with nothingness and void. Genesis 1:2

  • Just as the luminaries were created to dispel darkness, so too, “peace” was appointed to cut down and dispel evil.

  • The KJV is simply in error by stating that both darkness and evil were created by Yahuwah.

Our loving heavenly Father is now calling His faithful to come out of the false traditions of men. Each of His units of time are significant to foundational truth as they relate to worship. Would you like to take your stand with Him and be welcomed into His marvelous light.

May Yahuwah continue to bless you as you diligently seek Him.
