Our Journey Out of Babylon

Our Journey Out of Babylon

Out of Egypt, Babylon, and Rome
Long before Daniel discerned the times and the Magi set out on their journey by following a star to Bethlehem, there was Moses and the children of Israel, called out of Egypt in a great exodus toward the Promised Land. They did not follow a celestial sign, but were led by a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night, visible witnesses of the presence and guidance of the Most High, Yahuah. Their departure began on the fifteenth day of the lunar month of Abib, after sunset, the day following Passover. Yet before they could enter the land of promise, they were required to learn, unlearn, and be instructed anew in the ways of their Redeemer.
Scripture reminds us that Egypt was not merely a place on a map, but a system, one marked by false worship, corrupted measures of time, and resistance to the voice of Alahim/Elohim. In like manner, the prophets speak of Babylon not only as an ancient empire, but as a spiritual condition that obscures truth and entangles the nations (Isaiah 47; Jeremiah 51). In the final days, that ancient call is heard once more: “Come out of her, My people, that you be not partakers of her sins” (Revelation 18:4). This summons is a call to separation, discernment, and restoration.
It is here that the promise of Isaiah 58:12 comes into view, that a restored people would arise as “repairers of the breach” and “restorers of paths to dwell in.” This work of repair is not merely doctrinal; it is covenantal. It involves rebuilding foundations laid at Creation but fractured by tradition, empire, and neglect. Just as Israel’s redemption unfolded according to Yahuah’s appointed times, so the final restoration likewise calls a people willing to realign with His Word, His order, and His heavenly witnesses.
Our journey today mirrors that ancient exodus. To come out of Babylon is to leave behind mixture and confusion, even when they wear religious garments, and to follow the Torah and the Testimony of Yahusha, the Bright and Morning Star, who still leads His people by light and truth. This study invites the reader into that sacred journey: to step out of inherited assumptions, to walk the ancient paths once more, and to take part in the restoration foretold by the prophets, until truth is fully restored and the breach is finally healed.
The Magi Journey is Our Journey
The Magi traveled on camels from Babylon in the east, from the region of Ur (City) of the Chaldeans, where Daniel the prophet had once been taken captive along with his three faithful companions. There, amid a pagan empire, they were tested repeatedly for their faithfulness, yet blessed by the Most High and granted honor in the courts of kings. Daniel was entrusted with prophetic visions, recorded and preserved within the Babylonian realm, detailing the unfolding of empires and the arrival of the promised Messiah. These revelations, set forth in Daniel chapters 2, 7, 8, and 9, served as the primary guide for the Magi as they discerned the appointed time of Yahusha’s birth. And these same prophecies, together with the full canon of inspired Scripture, remain a guiding light for us today, calling us to emerge from Babylon, Egypt, and Rome, systems of false doctrine and tradition, and to navigate the deceptions of the present age, until we are gathered safely into the arms of our loving and compassionate Messiah.
Book of Mysteries
by Jonathan Cahn“He led me into a room known as the Chamber of Vessels. There he retrieved a small wooden box from which he removed an intricately adorned metal container. Inside the container was a white powder.
“Frankincense,” said the teacher, “one of the gifts of the Magi.”
“Who exactly were the Magi?” I asked.
“Priests of an ancient Persian religion called Zoroastrianism, one of many pagan religions. Stargazers who followed one particular star in their search to find the newborn King of the Jews.”
“But how did they know for sure that Messiah was born?”
“No one knows for certain,” he said. “It’s a mystery. [Read on to discover why this has been a long Jewish traditional teaching.] They only had shadows to go on, glimpses, hints, traces, longings, and the star. But they were seeking for the truth as best they could. They had no idea where it would all take them. They just followed the star, step by step, knowing only the next step and nothing else. Yet they ended up finding Him. And they had no idea what was written in an ancient prophecy.”
“About Messiah?”
“About themselves. Seven centuries before they arrived in Bethlehem, the prophet YeshaYAHU (Isaiah) prophesied of Messiah’s coming to Yasharal (Israel): ‘Arise and shine, for your light has come, and the glory of YAHUAH has risen upon you …and the Gentiles will come to your light … and a multitude of camels will cover your land … and they will bring gold and frankincense …’”
“Gold, and frankincense, and myrrh were the gifts of the Magi.”
A prophecy of Gentiles coming to Yasharal (Israel) in light of Messiah’s coming and bearing gifts as they came… a prophecy that waited over seven hundred years to be fulfilled. And the Magi had no idea. They were only seeking to follow YAHUAH Alahim’s (God’s) will, as if walking in the dark, step by step. [Another Jewish cover-up.] And yet they ended up fulfilling their appointed destiny, ordained and foretold for hundreds of years.”
“Learn their secret,” said the teacher. “You don’t have to know all that lies ahead for you …you never will. But set your heart on seeking His presence and His will, doing what you know is right, taking the next step, and the next, and you’ll end up in the place appointed for your life, even from ancient times, even from the beginning …the glory at the end of the Magian journey.” Book of Mysteries, The Magian Journey, by Jonathan Cahn, p. 108
[Disclaimer: This first portion and storyline by Jonathan Cahn has some errors that have been historically taught by the Rabbinical Jews. But stay with it as these will be resolved in the narrative explanation that follows.]
Daniel’s Prophecy of the Metal Man – World Kingdoms
Daniel 2 – Description of King Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream of the Metal Man that represented all the major kingdoms of the earth sequentially from his day to the completion of the 6,000 years allotted for the earth. Daniel then revealed to the king that a stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold… (Daniel 2:45). This is called the TIME OF THE END, when all the earthly kingdoms are destroyed and Yahusha haMashiach (the Messiah regains the throne in the hearts of mankind.
Daniel’s Prophecy of the Four Beasts – World Kingdoms
Daniel 7 – The vision of four great Beasts represents the same kingdoms of the earth as the metal man above, who, according to prophecy, ultimately had their kingdoms taken away.
“…The beasts, they had their dominion taken away, yet their lives were prolonged for a season and a time. Behold, the Son of Man, coming with the clouds of heaven! He came to the Ancient of Days, and they brought Him near before Him. Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and His kingdom shall not be destroyed.” Daniel 7:12-14
Seventy-Week Prophecy and the Identification of the Messiah
Among all the prophecies preserved in the book of Daniel, none is more consequential for identifying the Messiah than the Seventy-Week prophecy recorded in Daniel 9:24-27. This passage would have been of particular importance to the ancient Magi, who were renowned not only for their observation of the heavens, but also for their careful study of prophetic writings preserved in Babylon from the time of Daniel. Together with the great kingdom visions of Daniel chapters 2 and 7, Daniel 9 provides a precise prophetic framework that points unmistakably to the timing of the Messiah’s redemptive work and the inauguration of His everlasting kingdom.
Since the time of the Messiah, however, these prophecies, especially those found in Daniel chapters 2, 7, and 9, have been treated with deep caution within Rabbinical Judaism. Over the centuries, interpretive emphasis shifted away from their plain Messianic implications, and in many communities the study of Daniel was delayed, minimized, or surrounded with restrictive commentary. The question naturally arises: why would such a foundational prophetic book be approached with such reservation? The answer lies in the clarity with which Daniel identifies the coming of the Messiah, the timing of His appearance, and the establishment of a kingdom not rooted in earthly power, but in divine authority centered in Yahusha haMashiach.
Daniel 9 explicitly reveals the prophetic timeline leading to the Messiah’s appearance and sacrificial death, Israel’s long-promised Redeemer. Yet when access to this prophecy is obscured or its meaning redirected, the result is not preparedness, but blindness. Scripture itself warns that a lack of knowledge brings ruin (Hosea 4:6). When the Messianic expectancy shaped by Daniel’s timeline faded from view, many among the children of Yasharal were no longer watching for the fulfillment described in their own Scriptures. Tragically, when Yahusha did come in exact accordance with the prophetic word, He was not recognized by the leadership of His day and was ultimately delivered to Roman authority for crucifixion.
It is reasonable to conclude that, following the Babylonian exile, certain interpretive traditions entered Judaism, reshaping how prophetic texts were handled. Babylonian oral frameworks, layered with later rabbinical authority, often redirected focus away from prophetic fulfillment and toward survival within exile and dispersion. Whether through fear of Roman reprisal, theological discomfort, or the weight of tradition, the book of Daniel gradually ceased to function as a Messianic compass for much of the Jewish world. The adversary has always sought to obscure the foundational testimony of the Messiah, and suppressing or neutralizing Daniel’s prophetic message proved an effective means of doing so.
It is important to note that Daniel 9:24–27 does not pinpoint the exact date of the Messiah’s birth, but rather identifies the prophetic period culminating in His anointing, ministry, and sacrificial death. Nevertheless, the prophecy provided a clear chronological framework, a window of hope and expectation. This framework would have given the Magi reason to watch the heavens attentively for a confirming sign of the Messiah’s arrival.
“Seventy weeks are determined for your people and for your holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sins, to make reconciliation for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy.
“Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the command to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince, there shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks. The street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublesome times.”
“And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself. And the people of the prince [Rome] who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it shall be with a flood [of destruction], and till the end of the war, desolations are determined.
Then He shall confirm a covenant with many for one week. But in the middle of the week, He shall bring an end to sacrifices and offerings . . .” Daniel 9:24-27
Though the Magi’s native religious culture had misapplied stellar observation through astrology and horoscope practices, Yahuah in His sovereignty used what they understood, the language of the stars, to lead them to the truth. The prophecies of Daniel had been faithfully preserved within Babylonian scholarly archives, enabling the Magi to recognize the appointed season and watch for the heavenly sign announcing the Messiah’s birth. In this way, Yahuah fulfilled the prophecy spoken through the prophet Isaiah:
“Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of Yahuah is risen upon you… The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.” (Isaiah 60:1–6)
When the leaders of His own covenant people were no longer watching for His original and authentic signs in the heavens, Yahuah Alahim summoned seekers from the nations to bear witness instead. The Seventy-Week prophecy thus stands as both a testimony to the reliability of divine revelation and a solemn warning of what is lost when prophetic truth is surrendered to tradition. For those willing to return to the Scriptures with humble hearts, Daniel remains a beacon, calling all who seek truth to watch, discern, and recognize the Messiah exactly where and when the Word of prophecy declared He would appear.
Seventy Weeks of Years and Their Jubilees
The following chart reflects the commonly accepted interpretation of Daniel’s Seventy-Week Prophecy, which is typically understood to span 490 literal lunar years. While this framework has been widely embraced, it may overlook a crucial feature of biblical time reckoning that deserves renewed attention.
In Scripture, when weeks-of-years are tallied, Jubilee years are not counted within the seven-year cycles themselves, but stand as additional, intercalated years. The Torah establishes that after seven complete weeks-of-years, (forty-nine years), a separate fiftieth year is declared as the Jubilee (Leviticus 25). Each Jubilee cycle, therefore, consists of forty-nine years followed by one distinct Jubilee year. When Daniel speaks of seventy weeks-of-years, those seventy sabbatical cycles would naturally encompass ten Jubilee years, one occurring after each set of seven weeks-of-years. When these intercalated years are included, the total prophetic span expands to 500 calendar years rather than the 490 years often assumed. This distinction is not a minor adjustment, but one that merits careful, prayerful consideration when interpreting Daniel’s prophetic timeline.
In light of this, the position presented here is that while the commonly identified starting point of the Seventy-Week Prophecy is likely correct, the conclusion of the final week, and therefore the timing of the Messiah’s crucifixion, may have occurred ten full years later than traditional calculations suggest. Such a conclusion must, of course, be weighed alongside the broader historical context, including the witnesses and events unfolding during the year of the Messiah’s crucifixion. Yet when viewed through the lens of biblical timekeeping, the inclusion of Jubilee years offers a compelling framework that brings greater coherence to the prophetic narrative.
The Relevance of the Magi Journey Today
The account of the Magi remains profoundly relevant for our time, as it provides a prophetic pattern for seeking and recognizing the Messiah in these days of spiritual uncertainty. Just as these Gentile scholars were equipped to identify and honor the first coming of the Messiah through careful attention to the writings of Daniel, so the full witness of Scripture is likewise fortifying those living at the end of time, the Tanakh and the Brit Ḥadasha together.
The Magi were not guided by popular religious opinion, but by prophetic truth that had been preserved, studied, and believed. In trusting Daniel’s words, they succeeded in locating the long-promised infant Messiah and in doing so fulfilled the prophecy of YeshaYahu (Isaiah) that the nations and kings would come to His light (Isaiah 60:1–6).
Their journey also underscores the importance of discerning time rightly. Daniel’s prophecies provided not only promise, but timing, and the Magi watched the heavens in harmony with the prophetic calendar rather than the systems of empire or tradition. This same harmony between prophecy, celestial witnesses, and appointed times is being restored today. As the Creator’s calendar is rediscovered, truth-seekers are once again learning to watch, not according to man-made rhythms, but according to the heavenly signs established at Creation.
In this way, the Magi serve as a foreshadowing of the end-time remnant: a people willing to leave behind familiar systems, travel against the current of religious expectation, and follow the light entrusted to them with humility and courage. Their example calls us to spiritual watchfulness, faithful study, and obedient action. Those who seek the Messiah today are invited to walk the same path, guided by prophetic truth, aligned with the Creator’s lunar appointed times, and ready to recognize the Lamb when He appears. For as in the days of His first coming, so also in these final days, those who diligently watch will not be disappointed.
Divine Provision for What Lies Ahead
Like the believers before us, we are without excuse. We possess far more than the writings of Daniel alone; we have the full testimony of Scripture. Just as the Most High guided the Magi by a brilliant star to the very place where Yahusha haMashiach dwelt with His parents, He will likewise guide those who seek Him with sincerity as we face the most sobering challenges this world has ever known.
The coming days will test every foundation. Global unrest, collapsing economies, engineered scarcity, deception masked as progress, coercive religious and political systems, and counterfeit spiritual authority are no longer distant possibilities; they are rapidly materializing realities. Scripture foretold a convergence of control, fear, lawlessness, and false worship unlike any prior age. Yet none of these developments catch heaven by surprise. The same Alahim/Elohim who led Israel out of Egypt and guided the Magi with a star in the darkness will preserve and direct His faithful remnant in these final hours.
Our safety will not be found in technology, institutions, or human solutions. It will be found in an unwavering relationship with YAHUAH Alahim and YAHUSHA haMashiach through the Ruach haKodesh, the power, presence, and provision of the Father. This calling goes far beyond moral decency or intellectual assent. It requires wholehearted obedience: receiving the Messiah into the heart and realigning life with the Torah, restoring His set-apart calendar with its full New Moons, lunar Sabbaths, and appointed Feast Days, just as Ezra, Nehemiah, and all of the tribe of Judah did after leaving Babylon.
Receiving the Sign and Seal of YAHUAH
The mystery of the Seal of YAHUAH is found only within the correct Scriptural narrative. Scripture reveals that those who keep the Torah of Alahim/Elohim and hold the testimony of Yahusha will recognize the true Passover, which stands as the enduring SIGN between the Father and His people. Passover alone forms the living bridge between the Torah Law of Instruction and the Messiah. From the beginning, it has identified those delivered by YAHUAH’s mighty hand.
“It [PASSOVER] shall be as a SIGN to you on your hand and as a memorial between your eyes that YAHUAH’S TORAH LAW may be in your mouth; for with a strong hand YAHUAH has brought you out of Egypt [Babylon, Rome and the New World Order]. You shall, therefore, keep this ordinance [PASSOVER] in its season (#4150 mo’edah – fixed appointed lunar time) from year to year.” Shemot (Exodus) 13:9-10
Yes, restoration often begins with small steps. But as the end of this age rapidly approaches, we must be willing to learn and unlearn with urgency. Eternal life is at stake. There is no time to delay.
How to Leave Babylon, Egypt, and Rome
The journey of the Magi mirrors our own, a deliberate departure from Babylon, Egypt, and Rome; from false paradigms; and from inherited traditions that have been discovered have never aligned with Scripture’s testimony. Their path led them back to the ancient scrolls, preserved for generations and written especially for such a time as this.
Restoration begins with time itself:
- Scripture’s NEW YEAR (Rosh Hashanah) begins in the spring on the first morning after the full moon. Link to article, Rosh Hashanah.
- Scripture’s LUNAR MONTHS begin on the first morning after each full moon. Link to article, Restoring the Creator’s Calendar.
- Scripture’s LUNAR WEEKS and SEVENTH-DAY SABBATHS are counted from one to seven from one full New Moon to another. Link to article, Sabbath’s Consistent Lunar Month Dates.
- Scripture’s DAYS begin at sunrise, not sunset or midnight. Link to article, Sunrise or Sunset, When Does the Day Begin?
- Scripture’s LUNAR APPOINTED FEAST DAYS are counted from the full New Moon. Link to article, The Set-Apart Feast Days of Yahuah.
Beyond restoring time, we are also called to restore truth in name. Replacement titles introduced through tradition have obscured the sacred names revealed in Scripture. The Most Holy Name of the Father, YAHUAH (YHUH) Alahim, and the Name of His Son, YAHUSHA haMashiach, were designed to be spoken alike in every language, preserving identity and authority without confusion. Refer to the article I AM YAHUAH!
“…I will make my Kodesh [Holy] NAME known in the midst of My people Yasharal. And I will not let them polute My Kodesh NAME anymore. Then the nations shall know that I AM YAHUAH!” Ezekiel 34:7
A Call into the Presence of His Peace
Just as the Magi found the Messiah at His first coming by faithfully following the light entrusted to them, those who watch and obey will find Him again at the close of time by following the pattern already revealed in Scripture. Yahusha Himself declares in Revelation 22:16 that He is the Bright and Morning Star. He is the Prince of Peace and the King of Kings.
And so the journey reaches its final appeal, not into fear, but into peace; not into isolation, but from the everlasting promise into His divine provision. The Most High has never abandoned those who sought Him with sincerity, and He will not do so now. As darkness deepens, the light of truth grows brighter for those who seek and are willing to follow it. Those who step out of Babylon’s confusion and return to the ancient paths will discover that obedience is not bondage, but freedom; not loss, but life itself. May every seeker be guided with clarity, strengthened with courage, and filled with unshakable peace as they follow the Light of the world, YAHUSHA haMashiach, until faith becomes sight and the Kingdom of Heaven stands fully revealed. HalleluYah!
“Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.” Revelation 14:8
“And on her forehead, a name was written: MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.” Revelation 17:5
“And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird!” Revelation 18:2
“And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.” Revelation 18:4
“Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, “Thus with violence the great city Babylon shall be thrown down, and shall not be found anymore.” Revelation 18:21
“Just as surely as the luminaries [sun, moon, and stars] arise from the east and shine forth even unto the west, so in like manner shall be the coming of the Son of Man.” Matthew 24:27 (The Creator’s Calendar Restored Text)
“And in the kingdom, and dominion, and majesty, which belongs to the kingship [of YAHUAH] under the whole shamayim (heaven), there shall be a deliverance of the set-apart people of the Most High, whose kingdom is a kingdom FOREVER. And all the sovereign realm shall serve and worship, and they shall HEAR and OBEY.” Daniel 7:27
YAHUAH will deliver us from
this Luciferian Technocratic Dictatorship.15 My eyes are ever on YAHUAH,
for only he will release my feet from the snare.
16 Turn to me and be gracious to me,
for I am lonely and afflicted.
17 Relieve the troubles of my heart
and free me from my anguish.
18 Look on my affliction and my distress
and take away all my sins.
19 See how numerous are my enemies,
and how fiercely they hate me!
20 Guard my life and rescue me;
do not let me be put to shame,
for I take refuge in you.
21 May integrity and uprightness protect me,
because my hope, YAHUAH, is in you.
22 Deliver Yasharal [your faithful], O Alahim,
from all our troubles!
(Tehilim/Psalm 25:15-22)“And YAHUAH will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”
And He [YAHUSHA haMashiach] said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts.
He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his Alahim (God) and he shall be My son [and daughter].
But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” Revelation 21:4-8
