Lunar Secrets From Ancient Babylon

Uncovered: Lunar Secrets from Ancient Babylon

Welcome to a fascinating exploration of Lunar Secrets unearthed from the annals of Ancient Babylon, shedding light on the origins of two methods of timekeeping. In a remarkable journey back to the cradle of civilization, we delve into the groundbreaking revelations documented by François Lenormant in his seminal work, “Origines de l’Histoire” (History of the Origins), first published in 1880 and later treasured in the venerable 1911 Encyclopaedia Britannica (p. 993).

François Lenormant, the distinguished French Assyriologist whose life’s work focused on the archaeology, languages, and cosmology of Assyria and Babylon, brought to light the lunar foundations embedded within Mesopotamia’s earliest culture. Through meticulous examination of ancient records, Lenormant demonstrated that the full moon lunar phase functioned as the primary and authoritative marker for the commencement of years, months, weeks, and days in this most ancient civilization. This establishment of the full moon as the beginning of sacred time was not a late innovation, but a continuity carried forward from the pre-Flood world through Noah, preserved as the unchallenged gold standard of time-measuring until the rise of Babylonian rebellion, when divinely ordered time was first deliberately altered.

Decisively, this revelation takes us back to the aftermath of the great flood, marking the period of the first civilization of Noah’s family. In this pivotal era, spanning the initial and second generations after the flood, Noah and his family of eight stood as paragons of unwavering faithfulness to their Creator, adhering to His right-ruling Laws and embracing His original and authentic celestial calendar with its unique lunar time measuring methods. Their steadfast obedience, guided by the truths of YAHUAH Alahim, was a reflection of why the family of eight had been positioned as the sole survivors aboard the ark amidst the prophesied deluge that ultimately engulfed the antediluvian world.

Join us on this illuminating journey as we uncover Lunar Secrets that not only shape our understanding of the rebellion that ensued in ancient Babylon but also resonate in contrast with the enduring legacy of Noah’s fidelity to divine truths. Step into a realm where history converges with sacred and celestial revelations, inviting you to rethink the worldview concerning its current method of time measuring and what it may mean for your eternal destiny.

From the 1911 Encyclopaedia Britannica

Here is the quote recently found in the 1911 Encyclopaedia Britannica, quoting from François Lenormant’s book, “Origines de l’Histoire” (History of the Origins).

“Assyria and Babylonia—The twelvefold division of the zodiac was evidently suggested by the occurrence of twelve full moons in successive parts of it in the course of each year.  This approximate relation was first systematically developed [or maintained] by the early inhabitants of Mesopotamia and formed the starting point for all other divisions of time… [Later] The idea of tracing the sun’s path among the “stars” [by daylight] was when it occurred to Chaldaean astronomers, an original and, relatively to their means, a recondite one.  We owe to its realization by them the constitution and nomenclature of the [modern] twelve signs of the zodiac.”  1911 Encyclopaedia Britannica – Zodiac, p. 993, Lenormant, Orgines de l’Histoire, Vol. 1, p. 236.

What this Quote Is Plainly and Precisely Saying

The quotation from the Encyclopaedia Britannica  affirms several critical points:

1. The twelvefold structure of ancient timekeeping arose from the observable recurrence of twelve full moons in a year.

The quote explicitly states that the division of time into twelve parts was “evidently suggested by the occurrence of twelve full moons.” This assigns causal priority to the full moon, not as a midpoint or secondary marker, but as the phenomenon that suggested the structure itself. The full moon is presented as the observable marker that first made a twelve-part division of time understandable.

2. This lunar reality preceded and grounded later astronomical systems.

The full-moon cycle is described as the starting point for all other divisions of time. That means all the units of time did not ignore it; they were built upon it. The quote places lunar fullness at the foundation, with smaller units layered within.

3. The Chaldean innovation was not lunar reckoning, but solar inference.

What the quote calls “original” and “recondite” is not the lunar framework, but the later intellectual achievement that arose in rebellion to their Creator, in which they began tracing the sun’s position among the zodiacal stars when those stars are invisible by daylight. This required technical skill and inferential astronomy, not simple observation.

4. This solar mapping required the lunar conjunction as a technical reference point, not as a calendrical beginning.

The quote implicitly assumes that astronomers used lunar conjunction to infer the sun’s zodiacal position, creating a threefold alignment (sun, moon, stars). However, this use of conjunction was astronomical and analytical, but is not used today by Iran or Iraq as their New Moon. It functions as a reference point.

What this Quote Is Explicitly Not Saying

1. It is not saying that the dark conjunction was the original New Moon.

Nowhere does the quote state or imply that lunar months began at conjunction. Conjunction appears only indirectly, as a necessary condition for advanced solar inference, not as the defining boundary of a month.

2. It is not saying that the first visible crescent was the original New Moon.

The quote does not reference crescent observation at all. Crescent-based reckoning belongs to later historical developments and is absent from the logic being presented here.

3. It is not redefining “New Moon” in procedural or legal terms.

The passage is explanatory, not prescriptive. It explains that Babylon’s first time divisions were all based upon the full moon as the New Moon, but it does not legislate how months were officially inaugurated for worship or civil life.

4. It is not elevating invisibility over visibility.

On the contrary, the logic of the passage moves from the most visible lunar event (full moon) to increasingly abstract methods. Visibility precedes inference; observation precedes calculation.

What this Quote Positively Supports

Taken as a whole, the quote supports this conclusion:

The original temporal framework of antiquity was grounded in the recurring, visible witness of the full moon, which gave rise to the twelvefold division of time. Later, highly skilled astronomers developed recondite methods to track the sun’s path among invisible stars, using lunar conjunction as a technical reference. This later astronomical sophistication does not redefine the original lunar marker of time, nor does it establish conjunction or crescent as the foundational New Moon.

In short, the quote centers the full moon as foundational, acknowledges conjunction as instrumental but secondary, and says nothing at all about crescent-based month beginnings.

Why this Is Theologically Significant

Genesis 1:14 does not say:

“Let there be calculations!”

It says:

“Let there be lights… for signs, seasons (H#4150 – mo’edim – מועדים – lunar appointed – Psalms 104:19), days, and years.”

The Britannica quote confirms that the earliest civilizations understood time exactly this way. The lights were not hidden or covered. They were proclaimed.

Twelve Full Moons in Succession

As identified in the quote above, originally, twelve full moons in their order designated the lunar months of each year. Because full moons occur at night, they consistently measured the night sky together with the stars exactly as defined by the four witnesses of Scripture, found in Genesis 1:16, Psalms 136:7-9, Jeremiah 31:35-36, and Revelation 12:1.

The Full Moon for All Divisions of Time

Furthermore, this enlightening quote not only affirms the significance of full moons but also underscores their pivotal role as reference points for all other temporal time divisions. It extends its influence to the realms of Years, Months, Weeks, and Days, seamlessly uniting these components into a cohesive time-measuring system. Within this framework, the original New Moon Days and the sacred seventh-day Sabbaths, both revered worship days instituted by our Creator since time immemorial, find their measurements from full moon to full moon throughout eternity (Isaiah 66:23). In contrast to the divergent practices of modern Rabbinical and Karaite Jews regarding dark or crescent New Moon Days together with Saturday Sabbaths, this revelation of Lunar Secrets from Ancient Babylon stands as a stalwart confirmation, harmonizing with Scripture and astronomy, while exposing other worship rhythms and sacred days as fallacious.

Although there may be a temptation to perceive the full moon as the antithesis of the New Moon, in reality, these terms, full moon, dark conjunction, and first visible crescent, are simply designations for three popular lunar phases. The term “New Moon” specifically denotes the start or first day of a lunar month, not a particular lunar phase. By introducing the Hebrew term “Chodesh” from both the Strong’s Bible Dictionary and Brown-Driver-Briggs lexicon, we gain insight: (H#2320 – Chodesh – החדשׁ – new, renewed, new moon, month, monthly, 1a) first day of the month, 1b) the lunar month.

This joint definition leads us to the necessity of identifying which of these three lunar phases best marks the start of the lunar month (H#2320 – Chodesh). Determining this requires weighing the evidence from astronomy and history, with Scripture serving as the ultimate authority. Once the authentic lunar phase is discerned, based on comprehensive criteria, the subsequent 29-30 lunar phases consistently follow their numbered sequence in succession, delineating each day of the lunar month with a unique lunar phase. This method ensures that lunar phases are counted in the same order every month, maintaining both their consistent phase and position. As a result, it becomes straightforward to ascertain the week and day of the lunar month.

Over the past twelve years, diligent research has uncovered a substantial body of Scriptural evidence supporting the full moon as the Renewed Chodesh Moon. This wealth of information is compiled in 32 articles, offering a comprehensive exploration of this profound revelation. Please consider this an invitation to consider this long-lost truth. The Ancient Babylonian Invention That Has Become Convention

Delving into the fascinating revelations of Uncovered: Lunar Secrets from Ancient Babylon, as documented in the 1911 Encyclopaedia Britannica, opens a door to a world of captivating evidence and profound implications. So, what lies beneath the surface of this lunar revelation?

In the era of the faithful early descendants of Noah, the full moon served as the Rosh (head/first) rising in the east one night only to announce all divisions of time. It determined the Year, Month, Week, and daily count. These devoted worshippers of the one true Yahuah Alahim, our Creator, recognized the full moon as the celestial marker guiding their sacred time-centric worship ceremonies and observances. However, a shift occurred with the advent of Chaldean (Babylonian) astronomers from the same region, led by the rebellious-hearted Nimrod, as associated with the building of the great Tower of Babel. This marked the genesis of a counterfeit time-measuring system, which, despite its early roots, has endured through subsequent alterations and removal by historical figures like Julius Caesar and Emperor Constantine.

The descendants of Noah, once unified in their faithfulness to the Creator, Yahuah Alahim’s time-centric laws, underwent a pivotal transformation. Most of their descendants succumbed to this new and novel method of measuring time, straying significantly from the original, potentially triggering their rebellion against the Creator. This new alteration involved implementing a lunisolar system, measuring the stars with the sun during the day when the stars remain invisible and concealed. While not explicitly stated, this paradigm shift likely introduced the dark moon, in conjunction with the sun, as the new markers for the commencement of years and months. The consequences of this divergence from the Creator’s original design ripple through history, shaping the way we perceive time even today.

This marked the genesis of a new “secret or hidden” luni-solar system, initiating each year and month at a complete 180-degree contrast to our Creator’s predetermined time-measuring model. Could this act of rebellion be a key factor in the events surrounding the destruction of the Tower of Babel, the confusion of languages, and the subsequent dispersion of people across the earth, as a judgment from Yahuah Alahim?

In those early Mesopotamian (Babylonian) years, among the faithful followers of Yahuah Alahim, post-flood, the need for wall calendars, wristwatches, or international datelines was non-existent. Everything seamlessly integrated into the celestial rhythm above, beyond the reach of both man and beast. Each unit of time was impeccably designed to seamlessly transition into the next larger unit, eliminating any overlap of weeks with the commencement of years and months, as witnessed in our Roman solar calendar today. This harmonious synchronization was possible because all time divisions were guided by the same trinity of celestial lights, with the full moons serving as the starting points for each division of time in a splendid pattern and rhythm, distinguishing each in a unique way. This inherent reality offers a consistent and visually accessible platform for humanity to come together in worship, aligning with their Creator for all His sacred lunar appointed times.

The Choice is Yours

Can you hear the gentle whisper of the Ruach haKadosh (the Holy Spirit, representing power, presence, and promise) calling out to you, gently pulling at the strings of your heart? The call is to restore His worship rhythm, embracing the original full moon as the commencement of all units of time, including His authentic lunar Sabbath and lunar Feast Days. His still, small voice is beckoning at this late hour to realign with the divine order set by our Creator.

Reflect on a similar historical moment when Yasharal (Israel) found deliverance from their Egyptian captivity. Despite the numerous miracles witnessed on their behalf, there were those who hesitated to obey. The echoes of this narrative resonate in Hebrews 3:7-19, revealing the timeless struggle between hearing the call and responding in obedience.

“Therefore… “TODAY IF YOU WILL HEAR HIS VOICE, DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS AS IN THE REBELLION, IN THE DAY OF TRIAL IN THE WILDERNESS, WHERE YOUR FATHERS TESTED ME, TRIED ME, AND SAW MY WORKS FORTY YEARS. THEREFORE, I WAS ANGRY WITH THAT GENERATION AND SAID, ‘THEY ALWAYS GO ASTRAY IN THEIR HEART, AND THEY HAVE NOT KNOWN MY WAYS.’ SO I SWORE IN MY WRATH, ‘THEY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST.’ ”

Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living Alahim (God); but exhort one another daily, while it is called “TODAY,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we have become partakers of Messiah if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, while it is said:

“TODAY, IF YOU WILL HEAR HIS VOICE, DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS AS IN THE REBELLION.” For who, having heard, rebelled? Indeed, was it not all who came out of Egypt, led by Moses? Now with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.” Hebrews 3:7-19.

In Conclusion

In the echoing whispers of history, Yasharal’s (Israel’s) sojourn through the wilderness emerges not merely as a tale of antiquity but a poignant lesson etched in the sands of time. Yahuah Alahim, the Creator of all, orchestrates a divine vetting system, scrutinizing the hearts of humanity. Will we emerge as mere imitations, or will our essence withstand the refining fires of truth? It beckons us to gaze into the mirror of our own choices, urging a reflection on the path we tread—a path intertwined with the fate of either fool’s gold or “gold refined in the fire.” The wilderness legacy of Yasharal’s unfaithful resonates as a cautionary preview, a prelude to what awaits if we heed not the echoes of the past.

Our love and honor for the Eternal Father and Son find expression in the harmonious chords of obedience to their End-Time restored truths. This transcends the smug faithfulness to creedal relics of yesteryears, dismantling the blinders that shield us from the traditions of men woven into the fabric of Scripture. It invites us to cast aside the pseudo-safety of familiar paradigms born in synagogues and church pulpits and embrace accountability regarding the original and authentic sacred time measuring model for the faithful and obedient.

In the resounding call for restoration, Yahuah Alahim extends an invitation—an invitation to be partakers in His Kingdom for all eternity. The ultimate decision lies within our grasp as we stand at the crossroads of choice. May we, with resolute hearts, choose the path illuminated by the TORAH LAW, as unveiled in the revelations of “Uncovered: Lunar Secrets from Ancient Babylon.”

This article is a product of 19th-century archeology yet profound discovery. In François Lenormant’s timeless words, stands as a testament of evidence to the alignment of Scripture, historical veracity, and divine revelations. It is an offering of truth, a beacon amidst the discord of divergent beliefs.

As we navigate the diverging currents of lunar and solar calendars, the chasm widens between those embracing the Creator’s full moon celestial guidance and those tethered to human-altered time-measuring systems. The gap stretches as far as the East is from the West, mirroring the stark dichotomy between the paths chosen by followers of YAHUAH Alahim and the proponents of Babylon’s temporal synagogue and church constructs.

In the yearning of Yahusha, our benevolent Messiah, lies the desire to restore humanity back to the welcoming embrace and righteous standard of His Eternal Father. The path to restoration, obscured by Jewish fables and the commandments of men (Titus 1:14), invites us to cast off the shackles of deception and bask in the luminance of divine truth.

As the sun sets on this discourse, let the echoes of history guide our steps. Choose the path of restoration, for in the embrace of YAHUAH Alahim’s RESTORED TRUTHS, we find not only the illumination of His divine precepts but also the promise of eternal fellowship. HalleluYAH!
