Remember Lot’s Wife

This is a solemn call to leave behind the world, its attachments, addictions, and former ways without looking back, trusting Messiah to lead us forward into freedom, mercy, and the promised Kingdom.
Verse 1
The warning came before the dawn,
“Rise up and flee, the night is gone.”
The angels urged them, “Do not stay,
Do not look back along the way.”
Behind them stood a world condemned,
Before them mercy without end;
Behind them stood a world undone,
Before them hope beneath the sun.
Chorus 1
Remember Lot’s wife, don’t turn around,
When the Father calls, leave cursed ground.
Fix your eyes where mercy leads,
And trust the One who knows your needs.
Verse 2
Her feet moved on, her heart remained
Among the things her soul had claimed;
The rooms, the riches, silken clothes,
The life she loved, the world she chose.
Though judgment thundered through the sky,
One longing glance betrayed the eye;
She turned toward what she should release,
And lost the road that led to peace.
Chorus 2
Remember Lot’s wife, let Sodom go,
Not everything we love should follow.
When Heaven calls you from the past,
Hold to His hand and travel fast.
Verse 3
The Messiah spoke her story still:
A warning to the stubborn will.
For hearts can leave while longing stays,
And eyes look back to former ways.
So, when He calls us forth again
From broken paths and ways of men,
May nothing left behind compare
With life restored beneath His care.
Chorus 3
Remember Lot’s wife, choose life ahead,
Do not return to what is dead.
The narrow road may cost us dear,
But Messiah walks beside us here.
Bridge
Let every chain behind us fall,
Let nothing rival Heaven’s call.
No treasure, pleasure, place, or name
Is worth returning to the flame.
When Messiah calls, “Come out, be free,”
Let faith become our victory;
With hands released and eyes above,
We follow where He leads in love.
Outro
Go forward now, and do not fear,
The Promised Kingdom draws us near.
Whatever fades, whatever dies,
Keep Heaven ever in your eyes.
And when the old world calls once more,
Remember what we’re journeying for:
When Messiah leads you from the flame,
Never look back from where you came.
Blessed by this song?
