Three Months in a Row –
Forty Years Later
Part 4

Purpose of the Manna
Through the manna feeding schedule, YHUH (Yahuah) Alahim systematically restored His chosen people to His preordained astro-luni-solar principles of sacred time. He accomplished this through the proper use of His TRINITY OF LIGHTS, appointed to govern and measure time along the east-west continuum. The purpose of this TIME-KEEPING RESTORATION was to bring His faithful followers back into harmony with His sacred and set-apart worship calendar for all generations to come. Only one time-measuring model was ordained by YHUH Alahim, the MOST HIGH, to synchronize His obedient people with Salvation’s prophetic blueprint. Within this divinely ordered system, the long-promised Messiah would enter earth’s history at appointed times and be identified through the precise fulfillment of lunar-based prophetic events.
The ceremonial system of the earthly Temple/Sanctuary likewise pointed forward to and identified the true Messiah by uniting prophetic TIME with the appointed Feast Day EVENTS. Through this teaching model, together with the manna schedule, Yahuah Alahim placed before His people the WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, WHY, and HOW of humanity’s redemption and eternal destiny. True ATONEMENT would be realized through the promised Messiah’s fulfillment of the appointed Passover TIME and EVENT, when He would lay down His life as our PASSOVER LAMB on the 14th of Abib. In this way, the Plan of Salvation, Yahuah’s divinely appointed means of restoring humanity to the Eternal Father, was given its own sacred time signature through the full New Moon Days, lunar seventh-day Sabbaths, and seven annual lunar Feast Days. This single calendar model synchronized YAHUAH Alahim with Yasharal (Israel) while also identifying the true Messiah and His faithful followers throughout the generations.
Nearly lost during Israel’s long bondage in Egypt was the Creator’s full moon as His original New Moon. It was appointed to mark the beginning of years and months and to establish the count of weeks and the days within each lunar month. Each month of 29 or 30 days was thereby distinguished by its own orderly sequence of lunar phases. Within this framework, the sacred seventh-day Sabbath was counted from one New Moon to the next (Isaiah 66:23; Ezekiel 46:1-3; Leviticus 23:1-37), placing the Sabbaths on or near the four principal lunar phases of each month.
The manna also illustrated the reckoning of the day itself. Each 24-hour civil date commenced at sunrise and extended to the following sunrise, while the sacred daylight portion of the Sabbath was governed by the visible sun from sunrise to sunset. Although modern systems commonly reckon a new date from midnight or sunset, the forty-year manna schedule, within this study’s framework, presents a different pattern. The Messiah later declared that there are twelve hours in the day (John 11:9), harmonizing with Genesis 1:16, where the greater light is appointed to rule the day. Thus, the DAY is measured by the presence of the visible sun as it travels across the east-west continuum from sunrise to sunset, while the night remains the distinct period of darkness that follows.
Highlighting Lunar Months and Weeks
All of this brings into sharper focus principles of sacred timekeeping that have long been pushed to the margins of history. Their recovery restores the Creator’s four ordained seventh-day Sabbaths within each lunar month, counted from the full New Moon and commencing with the following sunrise.
This stands in sharp contrast to the later Rabbinical calendar model, which adopted a continuously cycling week, a New Moon reckoned by the dark conjunction or crescent, and a day beginning at sunset. Within the framework of this study, these practices represent a complete reversal of the Creator’s original pattern, because both the New Moon and the beginning of the day are shifted toward darkness rather than being governed by visible LIGHT.
Genesis 1:14 provides the foundational principle:
“Let there be LIGHTS in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night, and let them be for signs, and for
seasons[mo’edim #4150, lunar appointed fixed times of assembly], and for days, and years.”
The emphasis is unmistakable: LIGHTS were appointed to govern and define the divisions of time. The sun, moon, and stars were not merely placed in the heavens for beauty, but were ordained as the Creator’s visible timekeepers for days, lunar- appointed times, months, and years.
Entering the Promised Land
Moses had died, and Yasharal (Israel) now stood under the leadership of Yahusha (#3091 – יהושׁע – Joshua), whose very name and mission foreshadowed the Messiah, the One who would ultimately lead His people into the true Promised Land. Just as the Red Sea had been parted for Yasharal during the Exodus from Egypt, so forty years later the Father again opened the waters, this time at the Jordan River, as His people crossed into the land of promise during the second week of spring.
This moment marked the culmination of a long-awaited prophecy, fulfilling YHUH’s covenant promise to Abraham. For Yasharal, it also brought an end to forty years of wilderness wandering. At last, they could build homes, establish villages and cities, cultivate the land, and dwell in shalom (peace), at least for a season. For the first time in many years, they could enjoy the abundance of the land itself, planting crops, gathering produce, and eating the fruit of their own labor.
Manna Commencement and Termination
When Yahuah Alahim, the Most High, first began restoring His sacred system of timekeeping to Yasharal (Israel), He did so in the opening month of their deliverance from Egypt. From that first month forward, their journey was marked by carefully ordered appointments in time. Beginning on the 16th day of the Second Lunar Month, He sent manna from the shamayim for the first time. Forty years later, on the 16th day of the First Lunar Month of Abib, the manna ceased forever. In this way, the beginning and ending of the manna testimony were both fixed within the same divinely ordered lunar framework.
After Yasharal entered the Promised Land, Yahusha (Joshua) recorded the following:
So the children of Israel camped in Gilgal and kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the month at twilight on the plains of Jericho. And they ate of the produce of the land on the day after the Passover, unleavened bread and parched grain, on the very same day [lunar Sabbath the 15th]. Then the manna ceased on the day after they had eaten the produce of the land [16th day, first day of the third lunar week]; and the children of Israel no longer had manna, but they ate the food of the land of Canaan that year. Yahusha (Joshua) 5:10-12 NKJV

Forty Years Later – Part 4 establishes the following 16 facts:

Forty years after the Exodus, Yahusha (Joshua) records that the 14th day of the First Month of Abib remained the appointed Feast of Passover and, within the manna cycle, the sixth day of the lunar week when the final double portion was gathered. This, in turn, establishes the 15th of Abib as both the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread and the seventh-day Sabbath, preserving the same weekly pattern that had governed the wilderness years.
Then came the morning of Abib 16. For the first time in forty years, the manna did not return. What had always resumed on the first day of the new week now ceased forever. Thus the manna testimony closed on the 16th, the first day of the lunar week, bringing the forty-year miracle to its appointed conclusion and confirming the same calendrical sequence with which it had begun.
The same lunar rhythm governed the entire forty-year wilderness experience, not merely three months in a row. Because the recorded Sabbaths repeatedly fall on the 15th or 22nd of the lunar month, the surrounding weekly sequence necessarily places the other Sabbaths on the 8th and 29th. This recurring pattern provides powerful internal evidence that the months themselves were lunar and that each month was reckoned from its New Moon Day.
Although the New Moon Day is not always overtly named in the manna narrative, its position is revealed by the very structure of the account. The timing of the quail by night, the six-day manna cycle, the seventh-day cessation of manna, and the repeated alignment of Sabbath dates across successive months all point back to a single monthly starting point. Thus, the four complete weeks, with Sabbaths falling consistently on the 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th, testify that the Years, Months, Weeks, and Days of ancient Yasharal were coordinated according to a lunar system counted from the New Moon Day.
As a result, this study identifies the same sacred TIME signature first established by the ETERNAL Yahuah Alahim “IN THE BEGINNING.” It was this divinely appointed time-measuring model that prophetically marked with precision the appointed season in which the long-promised LAMB would first enter human history. Our Messiah’s True Prophetic Birthday.
Thirty years later, Yahusha haMashiach, the anointed Messiah, laid down His life on PASSOVER, the 14th day of Abib, to take away the sins of the world. In Him alone were the prophetic requirements of the time-centered Feast Days fulfilled in their appointed sequence. Passover was therefore not merely an event, but a divinely synchronized TIME-and-EVENT prophecy identifying the true Lamb of Alahim. This sacred calendrical framework distinguishes the lunar-appointed Messiah from every counterfeit religious system built upon a different time standard. The Sun was Darkened from the Sixth to the Ninth Hour.
Today, the call is again going forth to restore the Eternal Father’s celestial timepiece as revealed through His divinely appointed trinity of lights: the sun, moon, and stars. Many will not respond. Yet His faithful and obedient followers will awaken as from sleep, coming out from the confusion of Babylon and Rome and from the counterfeit calendar systems inherited through them. Like the Hebrews of old, the final generation will have many truths to learn and many long-held traditions to unlearn as they prepare for the ultimate Promised Land.
The Eternal Father’s TORAH Law, His Bridal Covenant, cannot be properly understood when separated from Passover and its all-encompassing provision through YAHUSHA haMashiach. The Torah, together with its Laws, Statutes of appointed time, and Judgments, finds its covenantal ratification in the Messiah’s sacrifice at Passover, precisely on the 14th day counted from the first full New Moon of the spring year. This Feast Day symbol identifies Yahusha haMashiach as the one true Messiah and sacrificial Lamb and reveals the appointed means by which humanity may be restored to the Eternal Father.
“But when the fullness of the time was come, Alahim sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the TORAH LAW, to redeem them that were under the TORAH LAW, that we might receive the adoption of sons.” Galatians 4:4-5
Within this framework, substituting a different YEAR, MONTH, WEEK, DAY, or DATE obscures the prophetic time markers that YAHUAH appointed to identify His Messiah and His covenant. Likewise, replacing the Father’s and Son’s sacred names with later religious titles represents, within this study, another layer of separation from the original Hebrew covenant framework. Babylon, Egypt, and Rome therefore become more than historical kingdoms; they symbolize competing systems of worship, authority, and time that obscure the Father’s appointed order.
In contrast to the prophetic Mark of the Beast placed upon the hand or forehead, YAHUAH Alahim has provided His own covenantal sign. Exodus 13:9-10 declares that Passover was to be:
“a sign to you on your hand and as a memorial between your eyes,”
so that:
“the TORAH [and Bridal Covenant] may be in your mouth.”
Passover, the 14th day counted from the full New Moon of Abib, therefore becomes not only a memorial of deliverance but a sign of covenant allegiance. The hand represents action and obedience, while the forehead represents remembrance, conviction, and conscious loyalty. Today is therefore a call to walk in newness of life and worship the Eternal Father, Yahuah Alahim, and His Son, Yahusha haMashiach, according to the rhythm of their appointed calendar.
In His providence, our loving Eternal Father, YAHUAH Alahim, has preserved an extraordinarily detailed record of sacred time, not only for ancient Yasharal but for you and me. He has done so that we need not be left without a witness by which to identify His Son, the promised Messiah, at both His first and second coming. The Temple and Sanctuary prophecies reveal Him as the true LAMB, PRIEST, and KING, and each role unfolds according to the Father’s appointed TIME-and-EVENT pattern.
Ancient Yasharal had to undergo a complete process of rehabilitation and restoration, learning once again to honor YAHUAH’s set-apart TIME-MEASURING CALENDAR. That process extended across forty years. In like manner, the end-time faithful, who have walked according to the light they previously understood, will be called into still greater light. For many, this will require the painful process of leaving behind inherited traditions, false religious systems, and deeply embedded assumptions. Yet through that restoration they will seek to bring their soul temples into harmony with both TRUTH and the Creator’s SYNCHRONIZED TIME MODEL. Humanity will ultimately face this valley of decision, where trust, obedience, and covenant faithfulness become foundational to entering His Kingdom and the Eternal Promised Land prepared from the beginning.
Yahusha (Joshua) and ancient Yasharal were not permitted to enter the PROMISED LAND until the old Egyptian religious order had been left behind. This included the counterfeit systems of worship and timekeeping that this study associates with Egypt’s dark lunar reckoning.
Had Yasharal refused Yahuah Alahim’s detailed instructions concerning the beginning of the year, the New Moon, and the appointed count to Passover, they would not have observed Passover on its proper 14th day. The consequence would have extended far beyond an error in chronology. Their firstborn would not have been protected, and their deliverance from Egypt would not have occurred according to the appointed pattern.
But they obeyed.
That same calendar then became the test again in the Second Month through the manna, in the Third Month at Mount Sinai, and throughout the years that followed. It did not end there. The same lunar framework beginning with the full New Moon stood at the heart of the Wilderness Sanctuary and its sacred appointments: New Moon Days, lunar Sabbaths, and every annual lunar Feast Date.
Some sincere readers may attempt to separate the manna narrative from the broader lunar structure of the year, month, and week. Yet only two lunar months before Israel arrived at the Mountain, Yahuah Alahim had already restored the beginning of the year, the lunar month, and the count of days leading to Passover on the 14th. Thus, the manna testimony did not arise in a calendrical vacuum. It rested upon a timekeeping foundation already established in Egypt. From Rosh Hashanah, the beginning of the year, each successive full New Moon continued the appointed count into the months that followed. This becomes a nail in a sure place, establishing the lunar foundation upon which the remainder of Israel’s wilderness chronology rests.
In The Exodus, Part 1, we discovered that the restoration of the calendar was among the first foundational truths given to the Hebrews before they left Egypt. It began with the full New Moon as the head of the year and the head of the lunar month. The crucial point often overlooked in the Exodus, the manna, the Mountain, and the events forty years later is that TIME itself was one of Israel’s earliest tests of obedience. Nor was it temporary. The pattern was designed to continue as part of Yahuah’s sacred order throughout all generations and time by His faithful.
For the final generation, the implication is profound. Surrendering the familiar Roman calendar rhythm of year, month, week, and day appears to be the preeminent test of faith and obedience. Those who followed YHUH’s instruction in Egypt, counting fourteen days from the appointed New Moon to Passover, preserved their firstborn and departed from bondage. Those who rejected His command remained under judgment.
We therefore must be restored to the proper use of His divinely ordained trinity of lights, the sun, moon, and stars, working together in harmonious order. Together with the full Bridal Covenant, the correct TIME-KEEPING MODEL becomes part of Yahuah’s means of identifying and preparing His end-time Yasharal. Those who enter the final PROMISED LAND, His glorious Eternal Kingdom, will be those who have allowed Him to restore both truth and sacred time within their lives.
The restoration of sacred time did not end with the wilderness generation. What Yahuah first taught through the manna, and then preserved through the Wilderness Sanctuary and its sacrifice schedule, continued forward through the generations whenever Yasharal remained faithful to His appointed worship.
This preservation of the Creator’s Calendar was essential, for it safeguarded the prophetic TIME-and-EVENT pattern by which the true anointed Lamb of Yah would be identified when He came to bear away the confessed sins of the world. Yet even that was not the completion of His ministry. Yahusha haMashiach still has a final work to fulfill on behalf of sinners, and the day is approaching when He will return as promised for His faithful. These, too, will be a people who have restored the Creator’s Calendar and brought their worship back into harmony with His appointed times, that they may be prepared for the great day of His appearing.

At long last, following the Second Coming, heaven and earth will again be brought into perfect harmony for praise and worship within the ETERNAL Kingdom according to His signature sacred appointments: full New Moons, lunar Sabbaths, and annual lunar Feast Days, from one New Moon to another.
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Ruach (power, presence, and promise of YAHUAH) says to the
